The Bryan County NAACP celebrated Black History through a Call to Service Day on Saturday, February 20th. There were three events held in Richmond Hill for branch members to select. Several members participated in multiple events. Many of the members, including a few youth, started at 9 a.m. cleaning the African American Patterson Cemetery that was in need of attention and restoration. ....

Call to service set for Saturday The Bryan County NAACP is celebrating Black History Month by hosting a “Call to Service Day” on Saturday, Feb. 20. Volunteers are sought for three projects. • Patterson Cemetery cleanup, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. • Bread of Life food giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. Restoration Worship Center. The church is located at 7446 Highway 17 South. • Book donation at 1 p.m. to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.
