It might be cold in Oklahoma, but the Cowboys’ defensive staff was hot on the recruiting trail Wednesday. Landon Dean became the second defensive player to commit to Oklahoma State of the day, following corner Cameron Epps. Dean is a 6-foot-4 defensive end/tight end who the Cowboys recruited as a defender. The Cowboys have pursued Dean a while, offering the 2022 athlete in May. He chose OSU over offers from Iowa State, Kansas State and Eastern Michigan. The Cowboy coaches might not want Wednesday to end. Oklahoma State landed its third commitment of the day for its 2022 recruiting class when Pawhuska receiver Mason Gilkey pledged to the Pokes. Gilkey is an under-the-radar prospect (something that happens when you play 1A football). OSU seems to have been his first offer, and he jumped at the opportunity. Listed at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, Gilkey has brought in 91 catches for 2,070 yards and 36 touchdowns the past three seasons for Pawhuska.
