The company has issued a voluntary recall due to the possibility of there being a thin metal strand inside the candies or loose in the bag.

Some varieties of Skittles, Starburst and Life Savers gummies are being recalled by Mars Wrigley after consumers reported finding a very thin metal strand embedded in the gummies or loose in the bag.

It seems as if the food recall train isn't stopping anytime soon! After various chocolate and candy recalls were issued last month, it appears as if Mars Wrigley Canada is joining the roster of companies who have recalled their products nationwide. In a May 13 press release, Mars Wrigley Canada stated that they have issued a voluntary recall of specific varieties of Skittles, Starburst, and Life Savers dummies due to the "potential presence of thing metal strand embedded in the dummies or loose in the bag," Mars Wrigley wrote.

There is a new food recall in Canada for certain Skittles, Starburst and Life Savers candies because of the potential presence of metal. On May 13, Mars Wrigley Canada announced that it has initiated a voluntary recall of some of its Skittles Gummies, Starburst Gummies and Life Savers Gummies products in Canada.

Health Canada has been recalling countless food items over the last few months. With the Kinder recall being amongst the biggest, Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are recalling neatly a hundred candy and chocolate products due to Salmonella. On April 29, 2022, Health Canada issued a nationwide recall on Elite brand products due to Salmonella. "Foodfest International 2000 Inc. is recalling various Elite brand products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination," Health Canada stated.
