While recreational cannabis is still at least a year away, any doctor or other eligible health professional, such as dentists and nurse practitioners, now has the ability to use their discretion when determining if marijuana would benefit a patient.
This expands the eligibility criteria for patients who can benefit from medical cannabis and makes it easier for them to be certified by a medical practitioner.
