Cape Cod and Falmouth hospitals are filled nearly to capacity as a record number of COVID-19 patients strains the local health care system, Cape Cod Healthcare President and CEO Michael K. Lauf said Wednesday. Coronavirus cases surged to 71 between Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis and Falmouth Hospital on Tuesday — the most ever, Lauf said.
