Captain Mike Poindextor of the Jasper Police Department said Thursday that numerous people in the Jasper had received calls from someone claiming that they were selling refrigerator door magnets as a fund-raising effort for local law enforcement on behalf of Jasper Police Chief Gerald Hall and others.
Poindextor said he wanted to make it perfectly clear that the Jasper Police Department is not sponsoring or endorsing any such fundraiser or in any way connected to it.
Poindextor said anyone receiving the call free to do whatever, but he wants everyone to know that the fundraiser is not sanctioned or endorsed by the police department. ....
