A number of premises including one in Carlow earmarked for housing men seeking International Protection in Ireland, have been changed to house families instead.
A protest group consisting of approximately 200 people have gathered outside a landmark Carlow town on Wednesday evening following confirmation that around 50 women and children seeking international protection would be accommodated there.
