Two new super-shows premiere this week, running the gamut from DC to Marvel, so there should be something for everyone out there. The biggest story is arguably the premiere of Disney and Marvel's first new MCU series on Disney+, WandaVision, which stars big screen alums Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. The show's described as a twisty thriller that draws reality-bending inspiration from classic sitcoms that all eventually culminates in a full-on Marvel movie. On the other end of the spectrum, The CW's Batwoman returns for its second season, introducing a brand new character under the cowl ...

The Expanse 5X06 discussion (twitter roundup) Amazon keeps doing the bare minimum of dropping a 15 second clip the day before the new episode airs, so here's some more of the cast doing a better job at promoting the show. This scene from 5X06 is one of Shohreh's favorite scenes (mine as well) because it's the first time you see this side of Avasarala. This is one of my favorite scenes in season 5 of @ExpanseOnPrime. ❤ Nadine keeps posting bts stuff for the Peaches and Amos road trip Every week Ty Franck (half of James SA Corey) and Wes Chatham host an aftershow discussing the episode. Screenshot: Amazon Studios The Expanse season five has somehow already reached episode six with “Tribes,” a somewhat calmer installment that’s still packed with action and incredible character work, especially for Cara Gee’s Drummer and Wes Chatham’s Amos. It’s time to check back in with Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo...

Screenshot: Amazon Studios Usually I love nothing more than peeling apart the layers of Expanse episodes, separating the storylines and what they have to say, thinking about what the action means for the characters, how they’re shaped by their choices, and how neatly all these things fit together. “Tribes” is beautifully structured, from a shaking Avasarala at the outset (still in that blue jacket!) to a rattled Amos realizing how much he needs his crew. But this week, I just keep wanting to see it as a single piece: a long, affecting moment of survival, grief, and arrogance. In that s...

Image: Amazon Studios This week’s Expanse episode title is “Down and Out,” so you know everyone’s going to be feeling the hurt of what’s happened so far—and man, it’s beena lot. But just because certain characters are in regroup mode doesn’t mean the action gets any less tense this week. Quite the opposite: season five shows no mercy! Advertisement This is a recap, so be aware: there will be spoilers. Don’t read on unless you’ve watched “Down and Out.” In the Belt, everyone in Drummer’s faction is reeling after hearing news of the asteroid strike on Earth. They’r...
