A number of people who had the same symptoms were admitted at Jubilee Hospital in Hammanskraal. A Cholera outbreak has been confirmed.
Just hours before her grandmother died after suffering severe diarrhoea, Kamogelo Stock had presented similar symptoms to the 75-year-old but had no idea what was wrong with her.
On Monday, the Gauteng health department announced that 12 people had died of cholera in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.
Since last Monday, the department said 95 patients had been seen at the hospital, with 37 admitted and 10 people deceased.
