West Side Christian will have a new yet familiar face on the sideline when the volleyball campaign begins on Aug. 15 at Columbia Christian. Former Lady Warriors Shelby Jones will take over the program this season. Jones graduated from West Side in 2016.
Senior Grace McNabb missed eight games early in West Side Christian’s basketball season. It’s not a coincidence the Lady Warriors have won 12 of their last 14 games since she returned to the court. West Side will take a 13-9 record and a top regional seed into next week’s Heartland Christian Athletic Association 2A State Tournament. The Lady Warriors take on Immanuel Lutheran out of Broken Arrow, Okla., Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
West Side Christian’s senior girls didn’t get off to a rousing start on the basketball court this season. The Lady Warriors lost five of their first six games before Coach Randall Miller was able to find the right combination. The team went into the holiday break on a five-game winning streak by using Miller’s “Mac Attack” strategy. Grace McNabb, Jenna McAdams and Camille McKnight have emerged as the team’s most consistent scorers and all-around players.
