Ohio State started classes on Tuesday, former Buckeye walk-on Chris Booker has a shot at the XFL and Brian Hartline is one of the best at his age.
Some of you might have seen my Meyer V Day Recruiting Series for each side of the ball. It got me interested in trying to create Offense/Defense Recruiting Scores similar to the overall 247 Team Recruiting Score. I got recruiting data for Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, USC, Oregon, Michigan, Notre Dame, Clemson, Oklahoma, LSU, Penn St., Clemson, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida State, Tennessee and Miami from 2012-2022.
Here's my stab at a basic review of both Urban Meyer's and Ryan Day's recruiting at Ohio State on the offensive side of the ball. I got the data for the 2012-2023 Ohio State 247 recruiting profiles and found the average recruit rating for each position group in each recruting class. I apologize if I got the years wrong but I gave Urban the 2012-2018 recruting classes and Day the 2019-2023 classes. For each position group I found the average recruit rating for each year (if there was a recruit for that position group in that year).
What will the offensive line look like in 2023? Pizza preference: Lou Malnati's or Giordano's?
In this series, Shane "BuckeyesCrootin" Bailey talks about every member of the 2022 Recruiting Class.
