The organizer of Sunday s blood drive from Troop 1438 says the idea for a partnership between Girl Scouts and the Red Cross came to her about a year ago in the wake of the pandemic. High school senior Carys Stringer says she s always been interested in the medical field and wants to help combat the nation s severe blood shortage. Stringer says this is all part of her Girl Scout gold award project, which is the highest award a girl scout can receive. ....
