Migratory stripers continue to filter in, while offshore, the previously quiet southern section of Jeffrey’s Ledge has been infused with haddock and pollock.
Stripers up to 50-inches are being found gorging on herring around tributaries and herring runs.
Unusually early, fresh striped bass schools, with many slots in the mix, have moved into rivers, marshes, harbors and beaches.
The first wave of the spring striper run has swept into New Hampshire and Maine, while offshore, groundfishing for haddock is excellent.
While news of stripers in MA has many getting excited for what looks like an early season, the sweetwater bite and groundfish are keeping anglers happy.
