Category 4 Dora still expected to pass well south of state after entering Central Pacific, but could help drive very strong, gusty winds : Big Island Now
As of 5 a.m. today, major Hurricane Dora had maximum sustained winds of 140 mph and was moving at 21 mph, continuing on a westward track that will take it south of the Hawaiian Islands. Dora was 1,095 miles east-southeast of Hilo and 1,110 miles east-southeast of South Point on the Big Island.
