Uttarakhand Government on Wednesday declared a three-day State mourning from December 9 over the sudden demise of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat.
Informing about the timeline of the fatal crash, the Defence Minister said that the IAF chopper lost contact with the Sulur base control room at around 12.08 pm after it took off at 11.48 am.
According to the sources, the health condition of the Shaurya Chakra awardee is critical but stable and he can be shifted from the Military Hospital, Wellington to the Command Hospital in Bengaluru.

An Indian Army helicopter carrying senior defence officials including CDS General Bipin Rawat crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Search and rescue is underway.
Three have been rescued so far with serious injuries.
