Telecom providers in India are testing a Cell Broadcasting Alert System in partnership with the government
Multiple smartphones users across the country were taken by surprise after they received a message ‘Emergency Alert: Severe’ at around 12.20 pm on Friday. The alert message was sent by Cell Broadcasting System by Department of Telecommunication, Government of India.
Emergency alert pushed by the Indian government is being tested to help people in major situations and is being pushed out regularly.
Emergency alert tests are conducted using cell broadcast systems to assess effectiveness and identify potential problems.
