The number of major criminal and civil trials has dropped during the pandemic. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office announced the conviction of two teenagers on weapons charges in early December. Both were charged in connection with a May 2019 shooting that sent bullets into homes, businesses and vehicles. Both defendants were convicted of unlawful use of a firearm, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
