　　1月17日，国民党当局污蔑新四军为“叛军”，下令撤销其番号，将叶挺交军事法庭审判，并准备在各种新闻媒体进行大肆宣传。
　　为了与国民党反动派进行针锋相对的斗争，把皖南事变的真相告诉广大人民群众，《新华日报》撰写了关于皖南事变真相的报道，结果被国民党新闻检查所全文扣押，不准刊登。
　　周恩来愤然写了两幅题词：“为江南死国难者志哀！”“千古奇冤，江南一叶；同室操戈，相煎何急！”要求报 ....
