VIENTIANE: The number of dengue cases in Laos reached 1,837 between January and March in 2024, with three deaths, Xinhua quoted the Lao Ministry of Health on Thursday (April 4).
The Lao government will continue to work with development partners to raise public awareness of the harmful effects of air pollution which is a threat to human health and the environment.
Health authorities and the public are concerned about the increase in deaths due to dengue fever, as the Ministry of Health most recently reported that a four-year-old girl died from the virus, taking the dengue death toll to 19 in the South-East Asian country this year.
