A new global study published in the journal Neurology has revealed a concerning trend linking climate change-driven temperature changes to an increase in stroke deaths and disability worldwide. The analysis, spanning three decades of data, found that over 5.2 lakh stroke deaths in 2019 were attributable to non-optimal temperatures. The majority of these deaths were due to lower than optimal temperatures, but deaths from stroke linked to higher temperatures have also risen compared to 1990.
