And it is very hard to take what is in the plain visible part of that video and turn it into what is legally required which would be an imminent threat. that's why as you say the stand still line is so key. the defense has done what they have to do which is try to argue that there is something else, that the larger context of before the video changes everything. they made the argument that there was an altercation, that there was an attempt to go at the taser, that it all happened faster than it may have looked like on video and thus the officer was still basically responding to something else...
