The arson incident took place in the afternoon under Naimed police station limits, where a WTP is being built on the bank of Mingachal river to supply potable water to Bijapur town, an official said.

The family members staged a protest and have blocked Jammu Akhnoor national highway while demanding the safe return of their son. “We want nothing else than the safe return of our son,” the protesting family members said.

Reports claimed that two Naxals, including a woman operative, have been gunned down. As of now, the encounter is still underway. While three of the martyred jawans belonged to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), two were from the District Reserve Guard (DRG).
