屏東縣高樹鄉患有精神疾病的楊姓男子，26日因被提醒「要戴口罩」攻擊潘姓超商女店員，致潘女雙眼重創，有失明可能，引發軒然大波。楊男已非首度傷人，大眾認為其多次進出醫院，又回到社區，無法有效控管，事實上衛福部規劃的「司法精神病房」預計年底開辦，屏東綠委指出，繼「病房」後，現正推動「病院」，收容有暴力傾向的精神疾患進入系統收治。立委莊瑞雄指出，事發後，他即致電內政部長、警政署長，要求立刻補強社會安全網，不能再讓這種事情發生在鄉親身上，他認為，社會安全網應以家庭與社區為基石，落實前端預防，醫療機構、衛生單位與地方派出所建立交流網絡，當病患回到社區時要通報警察機關，且要加強社工與相關人員對精神病患家庭的訪視及輔導，通報流程需簡化與單一，以便提供脆弱家庭即時的服務；醫療系

震驚社會的屏東高樹挖眼案的楊姓男子因長期為惡地方，卻又屢屢出院回鄉為害地方，引發群情激憤，鄉民繼昨天發起連署不要楊男回來後，今天更有近40人到屏東縣衛生局前陳情，直呼「要關到死」，並要政府給個公道，維護無辜鄉親安危。近40名鄉親在村長張吉源及網紅「正義哥」徐奕的帶領下，今天下午1點從高樹鄉搭乘遊覽車前往屏東市，但並不是為出遊，而是要爭取村民的生活安穩，免於不定時炸彈的威脅，約兩點前抵達屏東縣衛生局，並高喊「衛生局還我們公道」。
