The body of the 22-year-old Bamise Ayanwola, who was allegedly murdered by the driver of a bus belonging to the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) scheme, Lagos State was laid to rest amid tears on Friday. Bamise was killed in February this year. She was buried at Atan Cemetery in the Yaba area of the state. A police officer, Sunday Ihende, recently testified in court that Andrew Ominikoron, a BRT bus driver, raped and caused the death of Bamise Ayanwola.

At the resumed trial on the rape and murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwole, on Tuesday, a witness Goddy Ihende, has told a Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square that the accused driver of the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit, Andrew Ominikoron, always raped his victims in secluded places. Ihende, a Superintendent of Police also told the court that apart from the deceased, the defendant attempted to rape one Doctor Victoria Anieke.

The family members of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old lady, who was declared missing on February 26, 2022, after boarding a Bus Rapid Transit vehicle from the Ajah area of Lagos to Oshodi and whose body was later found by the police, on Tuesday lamented that the Mainland Hospital mortuary, Yaba, where her corpse was deposited, is demanding N500,000 from them. Bamise went missing after she boarded a BRT vehicle from Chevron Bus Stop, Ajah to Oshodi around 7pm on February 26.
