Nigerian lawmakers in the House of Representatives have announced their resolve to investigate multiple and recurring collapses of the country’s national electricity grid. Between January and October this year, the national power grid collapsed at least seven times, throwing the whole country into a blackout. The incessant national power grid and its attendant economic effects prompted the lawmakers’ resolution to embark on the probe after a member of the House, Sani Bala, from Kano State moved a motion of urgent public importance.
