You may or may not pay attention to the MPGe figures all new plug-in vehicles have. Kia’s new EV9 and several other mid - full size plug-ins have MPGe figures ranging from the 40’s to the 80’s, but what does that translate to in terms of fuel use?

Kia recently announced that prospective EV9 buyers can begin reserving deliveries for later this year. While this is exciting as the EV9 will be the most affordable 3-row fully electric SUV on the market, Kia might just be hamstringing itself too.

Kia set another consecutive monthly sales record, its 14th, for year-over-year US sales. It was also Kia’s all-time best 3rd quarter for US sales, with a total of 210,341. SUVs, the Carnival minivan and the Niro are the primary sources of Kia’s growth.
