idaho university students. brian christopher kohlberger, age 28, ph.d. student at washington state university, studying criminal justice of all things, hiding out, where else, at mommy s house. i m nancy grace. i m in for laura ingraham tonight. this is a special edition of the ingraham angle. after 47 long days of suffering from the four victims families, finally an arrest. standing by, right now, in pennsylvania, outside the c.i. correctional institute where kohlberger is being housed tonight. laura, what can you tell us? laura: hi, nancy. we re outside the monroe county correctional facility and this is where he s going to be calling home for the next few days at least. and you mentioned that he was arrested where we believe to be at his parents house. just a few short miles from where i m standing now but tonight, he sits here behind me inside this jail that holds about 400 inmates. some of them are maximum security inmates. others minimum security. of course, ....
nancy grace: i was surprised to see the prosecutors there, too, that i was a cardinal rule as a prosecutor, never speak to the press. chief mcdonough, what do you make of it? i love that last comment because i agree a hundred percent. also something else to consider, is, some of the trace element potential, there was a dog in that residence, right? that s a silent witness. does this individual potentially have trace evidence from the animal walking through that house? and that now transfers on to the suspect s clothing at some point? and then that turnovers into the car? and then they get the dna off of the animal hair so that s another possibility as well. not only blood, and then, of course, the suspect s shoes. those are always critical pieces of clothing, as this panel knows. we want to grab that stuff early and quickly. there is a whole bunch of variances that could play into this. it will be interesting to see. ....
[ inaudible ] we will let chief mcdonough handle that one. the question is, is the hero in the hospital. i know it s not easy for you but there are a number of heros in this. as captain fowler said, an individual made initial contact, then another person helped, then another person assisted them. this is a tragedy and the family, the victims families, it is heart breaking. but if there is any good light in this, it is that the people around them stepped up. [ inaudible ] i actually can t clarify that. when i was at scene, it was pretty dynamic back and forth. we will probably be able to clarify that tomorrow or at a later date. .
