The funeral services of Chief Oyibo Chukwu, an erstwhile Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) chairman in Enugu State who was assassinated on February 22 while campaigning to become the Enugu East senator on the Labour Party (LP) ticket, will be held on December 8 and 9.   Family sources told SaharaReporters that the Nigerian police had yet to find and arrest the killers of Oyibo Chukwu, adding that his burial would be held for two days in his hometown of Amuri in Nkanu West Local Government Area in Enugu State.

Kinsmen and concerned indigenes of Enugu State, under the platform of Citizens Against Violence, on Saturday staged a peaceful protest against the brutal murder of the former chairman of Nigeria Bar Association for Oji-River branch and senatorial candidate of Labour Party for Enugu East senatorial zone, Chief Oyibo Chukwu. The group which marched round Enugu State metropolis with placards demanded justice for the deceased calling on the security and intelligence agencies to ensure that those behind the gruesome killing did not get off scot-free.
