KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's a bittersweet week for some Chiefs fans as the excitement of the Super Bowl is tempered by the loss of a family member.
Suzanne Lopez got her love for the Chiefs from her late mother, Barbara Muldrew, a true Chiefs fanatic.
"I just remember her just living the Chiefs, so the Chiefs are just really special to me because it's my connections to her," Susanne Lopez

As the Chiefs make their way back to the Super Bowl---fans from all over the world are hoping to see the Chiefs #RunItBack."When you tell them you’re a Chiefs fan, the most are like well of course ---you’re just a bandwagon fan because they have all this success," said Marius Hinrichs, who lives in Germany. Former and current EF High School Exchange Year students we spoke with, say they became Chiefs fans after learning about football and the team while studying in the U.S. "On Sunday nights, we would watch football and, I didn’t know the rules, I just enjoyed it with family," said Hinrichs. Many students now try to spread the word of the defending champs—to people back in their home country. “I’m sending them videos or photos of the football game and teach them how to play," said Carlotta Fuiz, who's from Italy and studying at Saint Thomas Aquinas. Even in completely different time zones, they can’t miss watching Mahomes and the Legion of Zoom rack up the scoreboard."It started at 1:45 a.m. for me, so it was in the middle of the night and it was done at about 4(a.m.)," said Lisa Schoonebeek, who watched games from the Netherlands. Looking ahead to Super Bowl Sunday, many fans are confident in the team. "I’m pretty optimistic looking back to week 12, and they actually won against the Buccaneers," said Maria Dubrovenski in Germany. "I just hope Chiefs win," said Eunjin Lee, who's from South Korea.
