Our Correspondent Kohima, Nov. 8 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima, Shanavas C, on Tuesday, encouraged children to be confident and hold their heads high, regardless of circumstances, to excel in life. He was speaking as special guest at the Children’s Day celebration organised by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) for Child Care Institution, at Highland Park in Kohima. He told the children to strive for excellence with confidence; while reminding them that there is no shortcut to success and no substitute for hardwork. The official, while expressing delight at the performances of the children, said they were talented and second to none. He highlighted the life story of former President of India, APJ Kalam, who became the first citizen of the country, even though he had a humble beginning. Shanavas told the children to be inspired to work hard with dedication, despite challenging circumstances, to achieve success. Earlier, a welcome address was delivered by Sekho Dawhuo, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Kohima.
