Person found dead inside Desert Hot Springs apartment following fire A person was found dead following an apartment fire in Desert Hot Springs Monday afternoon. Cal Fire was initially called to the Casa West Apartments on Cholla Drive at around 1:50 p.m. to respond to an apartment complex. However, a spokesperson later confirmed that the incident turned out to be some kind of medical issue.
