The Coca-Cola Company announced on July 27 that Sprite is transitioning from its green packaging to a clear package beginning Aug. 1.
The company said while the green bottles are recyclable, the material was typically used for single-use items like clothes and carpeting.
The move away from green PET for Sprite and other brands is part of a larger overall push to increase recycled content for the company's beverage containers.
