Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso confirmed that the crackdown targeted rogue motorists who violated traffic laws.
Members of the public who wish to apply for the new KG number plates license for garage and tow trucks will be required to pay Ksh. 18,550.
The new look plates were unveiled in a meeting attended by Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.
This comes after a new trend emerged of dangerous vehicles sneaking into Kenyan Roads.
With the deal, one will have to indicate where they want to collect their logbooks or driving licenses during the application process.
