Article content The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for affordable housing and has led to rising homelessness, the CMHC said in a press release on Monday. As a result, $12.8 million is being spent to build around 51 new affordable housing units for individuals and families in Winnipeg through the Cities Stream of the expanded federal Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI).
