Vaccines in Montgomery County: 100 openings for Pfizer

After a pause in administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine due to a possible link to blood clots, Montgomery County Health Department announced that 100 Pfizer vaccination openings are available Wednesday.  First and second Pfizer vaccinations are administered at the drive-through facility at the former Sears Automotive Center at Governor’s Square Mall ending at 2:30 p.m. The administered vaccinations are on a first come first serve basis and no appointments are necessary for these slots.

We came dangerously close to losing it. For a while, it was the only area of our community which had a decline in tax base and economic value. But now, there is in fact, rebirth in downtown. From Downtown Commons to the multipurpose events center (MPEC) under construction, and over to the planned Roxy performing arts center, there is no shortage of intrigue in the current wave of revitalization in historic downtown. But where the plans really excel, any local official will say, is in the way they can and, in fact, already are spurring private development downtown. Recently, for example, plans were revealed for a private downtown venture led by the Joe and Cathi Maynard family to add three levels of restaurant and lounge space with classic cars as part of the theme.
