Ludhiana: Property tax payers who filed wrong assessment of their property tax returns got a chance to clear their dues under the one time settlement .

As many as 64,000 property owners in Ludhiana have availed the benefit of the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme to clear their pending tax dues without penalty and interest. The municipal corporation (MC) has urged residents to deposit property tax by December 31. The MC commissioner has directed officials to expedite the recovery of property tax and water-sewer user charges. The OTS policy allows residents to pay pending tax without penalty and interest till December 31, 2023. Over 64,000 property owners have already availed the benefit, generating a revenue of around Rs 6.42 crore for the MC.
