A stroke in March and other health complications claimed Brittain’s life April 8, according to his son, Tim Brittain. He was 94 years old. The family plans to hold a memorial service to commemorate his life and all he guided by faith.
“He made the profession of faith at just 6 years old but did not realize at the time the commitment he made to God,” said Tim Brittain. “His father was a Methodist preacher. All of the facts were laid out in front of him. It was a matter of him acting on it.”
