Remembering the Cleveland Markets That No Longer Exist
The West Side Market is obviously the best-known market in Cleveland. But local markets were a huge part of the heartbeat of the city in the first half of the 19th century and there were many more providing fresh produce and more to shoppers. Almost every neighborhood and shopping plaza had their own market, whether it was an open-air one like Central Market or a corner storefront like Maroun's Market on Hough Avenue.
