THERE are plans to erect an £80,000 bronze statue honouring Wrexham s long and proud association with the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Offa Community Council has approached the Heritage Lottery Fund to secure funding for the project, which would be sited in the Kingsmill Road area. Neighbouring Caia Park Community Council has been approached to see if it would support the project. The issue was discussed at the latest meeting of Caia Park councillors held on Zoom. Clerk Michael Morris described the request for financial assistance as an usual one before telling councillors Offa was planning to submit a grant application for the project.
