Under the influence of Cyclone Yaas, four to five feet high tidal waves hit the Marine drive area. As a result, about three hundred large Jhau trees were uprooted in Kobita Chattar, Diabetic Hospital Point, and Shaibal Point areas, reports our correspondent. Locals of Cox s Bazar said Jhau trees cover most of the beach area of Cox s Bazar. They protect the locals from natural disasters, balance the environment, and also serve as a tourist attraction.
