Cornwall Borough Council gave final approval to a $2,769,684 budget for 2022, which will require no increase in property taxes.
Testifying before council, Steve Dellinger of Hanover Engineering explained that the zoning ordinance only allows a home located in a forest residential zoning district to be used as a guest house or bed and breakfast if the property owner requests a conditional use hearing and if the council approves the use. He added that one of the listed requirements for a guest house is that the property must have public water and sewer facilities. The property in question does not meet that requirement. Cornwall Borough Council agreed to help the Community Fire Company of Cornwall Borough to purchase a used $500,000 aerial truck. The 2012 Pierce aerial truck will replace the fire company's 1997 E-One (Emergency One) aerial ladder truck.
