I believed it was important to have a fresh start at the fbi and was in my letter to the president when i recommended comey s removal. i used the words fresh start. and the fbi director chris wray is a very talented, smart and capable leader. joining us now is asha rangappa. when you hear those words that a fresh start is needed, do you agree and what does that look like? well, it is interesting that he believes there has been an erosion of confidence since a lot of that erosion has been a result of a lot of the politics that have taken place surrounding the mueller investigation instead of just letting it continue unimpeded. i don t know what he means by a fresh start. most fbi agents are civil servants, career civil serve ans, there because they felt a sense of mission and they have protections. you can t just fire everybody in ....
There is not enough context in that article. here we have a clear cut allegation that the swhous not denying. they re not denying that president said the pressure is being taken off with comey s removal. they re not denying he removed comby. nour we re goi now we re going to hear from the fbi director to potentially subinstant y substantiate some of these. do you think he doesn t realize these are documents meetings that can leak out or do you think he doesn t care? i think that this is the most significant internal leaks that we ve seen from a meeting like this. so maybe it was something he didn t realize was a possibility. i mean there could have been a white house stenographer there taking notes. i don t know this was a direct transcript. that was an argument that maybe the comments were left out. maybe he wasn t even aware his words could leak out. you can bet that president might watch his words a little more ....
Yesterday was that in his opinion, in the opinion of many people who worked in the justice department, is that comey violated the policies of the justice department by blurring the line between investigators, which is the fbi, and prosecutorial decisions, which is the justice department. and when comey had his press conference last summer about the clinton e-mail investigation, from rosenstein s position, that was a violation of the rules of the justice department. and then the same thing kept recurring every time comey came out and spoke in public. and so, from his perspective, there was a clear violation, and rosenstein doesn t believe from his perspective that that was part of the tradition of the agency, and in and of itself, it should trigger his removal, that ....

Investigation to date. simply put, sir, you cannot stop the men and women of the fbi from doing the right thing, protecting the american people, and upholding the constitution. okay. so, john, the white house i go ahead. i suspect the fbi and many of them double down, don, and are actually more committed to the investigation now than before comey s removal. i think that s right. what john said. there is an interesting question whether he saw the latest memos that have been written by mr. comey over time, and i think that is going to be a major part of this story because sound bite, would he know at that point? may not. the answer, the white house points to the answer here, but if you look at senator marco rubio s question, right, he s specifically asking whether the dismissal of comey impeded the investigation. that s exactly right, so we don t have clear testimony on ....
