John tierney, what do you think? you don t seem like a troll type of guy. not too much of one. this makes sense, all writers do this too, there is research that the reason people like to post negative stuff as it makes you seem smarter. people think that and it s actually true, they ve done experiments where they do the same critic writing a good review or a pan, people think the bad review author is a smarter. tom: people who really think they re smarter. they think they re smarter, people do that, especially people who are insecure. if you are addressing people who are better educated than you, people go negative because they think it make them seem smarter. that s what happens in comment threads, too. they often start out positive but as soon as puts in a snarky comment on people are afraid to put in something positive to seem naive and stupid. tom: people pile on you after every show here, ben. i get nothing but positive comments, if i get a negative ....
