Single mum of disabled child told to identify as 'divorcee' to help housing chances

Mother Christa Ah Kiau and son Elias Faulau only have a week to find a new home.
Elias has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.
It was during her first house viewing as a single mother that Ah Kiau said she was told by a realtor to say she was a divorcee.
Ah Kiau said she felt dehumanised and belittled by the comment.
“It was hard because I’m just like any other person who just wants to keep their child safe. We’ve had to overcome a lot, my little boy, we just need a roof over our head, our basic security needs, so we can start to hope and dream again.” ....
