HARRISBURG — Following a meeting of the Commonwealth Drought Task Force this week, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is maintaining a statewide drought watch.
Though it is not required, a drought watch means residents and non-farm businesses are encouraged to voluntarily conserve water.
The DEP said Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and Perry Counties are among those across the state that are experiencing low groundwater levels.
