The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has seized 654 cartons of Tramadol imported into the country from India.
Addressing newsmen, on Thursday, in Lagos, the Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Mi Yusuf explained that 989 cartons of Mixagrip tabs wrongfully declared as Winches and gaskets were also intercepted at the Lagos port.
According to Comptroller Yusuf, “Barely three weeks after I resumed duty here in Apapa, I came in with strong determination, zeal and commitment to ensure that the confidence and trust bestowed on me by the CGC is upheld and not abused. In line with that, the command’s anti-smuggling architecture has been redesigned to suppress smuggling to the barest minimum. ....

The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘C’ Owerri, have intercepted 5,200 live ammunitions (cartridges of 30GR 70mm Calibre ) and various contraband with a duty paid value (DPV) of Three Hundred and Seventy-Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Five Naira only (N378,751,935.00) between November 23rd to December 27th 2020.
The Controller, Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘C’, Comptroller Yusuf Lawal Psc(+) while addressing the media in Owerri Imo State Capital expressed concerns over the trends in arms and ammunition smuggling in recent times making reference to the interception in Lagos in 2017, in Kwara in 2018 and just recently in Kebi using different routes and now the interception of 5,200 live ammunition cartridges (30GR 70mm Calibre) on the 13t ....
