they re going to have to sacrifice some homes and businesses in order to save many, many more. the army corps expected to open louisiana s huge morganza spillway when the river flow hits 1.5 million cubic feet per second. what does that mean? all you need to know is that rate continues to go up and getting closer and closer to that point. the spillway was last opened in 1973, but we are expecting it today and maybe in the next few hours. now, doing that, what does that do? it takes the pressure off levees in baton rouge and new orleans and it will also flood seven louisiana parishes west of the river. the national guard is out. you see them here, they have been working around the clock filling sandbags in morgan city. that s a community of 12,000 that is expected to be just flooded out when this water is released. can you imagine this, folks? people just standing by and waiting on the water to come and destroy everything. it s worse than we thought. it s really worse ....

The incident in september 11th taught us that, because several people had hunches and they didn t act on them. the hunches can be wrong, but they must have that authority and they have that authority by law and they must use it wisely. and tim, i m curious where you stand on this. well, i mean, a pilot might have the right to remove a passenger if the passenger is engaged in behavior that makes them suspicious, but the only thing that these two did as far as anyone has said is be muslim and dress in a particular way that made the pilot nervous. remember, that the hijackers on september 11th didn t dress that way, and in fact, they dressed like computer programmers on the way to work on casual friday, so if we were going to use that as a legitimate profile we should kick off all muslims dressed in dockers and loafers wearing izod and this is a situation where the pilot had no rational reason for the reaction and at some point we have to call him and others like him on that bias. it ....
