Pressure wave which would con stuktively interfere with itself and get a resonance, like hitting a tuning fork, and you make any crack you have, any leak you have worse. the other thing is, there is a rubber seal between the base of this new cap and the riser itself, the old riser. and if that rubber seal doesn't seat, if you shake it loose with a sudden pressure jolt, it will be very hard to get it back on there. so everybody's trying to go slowly. to make sure they get things to seal well, top and bottom. i'm not trying to defend the oil industry, but this thing's been going on for 86 days. ...
