I know we re talking about space but there are some important things going on in the country right now and we need the congress to get their act together. otherwise the space things we think are making life better on the planet are for naught. we are the shining city on the hill. if the congress can t act like it, we need a new congress, to be quite honest. i m frustrated and i know this is space we re talking about but space needs things right on the planet. it begins with the people in congress who are being critical of jeff bezos and elon musk and others, they make the laws and change them and can collect taxes. they re trying to cast responsibility off onto people like me and bezos and we re doing our job. they need do theirs. that is a message delivered loud and clear, general, to members of congress here in washington. i want to as you talk about space, let me ask you to if you can look down the road into the future here. ....
Of government require separation of powers and a checks and balances. and if congress can t act as a check and balance, we re heading to becoming a banana republic instead of a democracy. that s why that to me is very important. i think the interference asking a foreign government was such a clear violation of our foreign policy as well as our federal election laws and, by the way, letting the federal election commission basically lapse. there isn t a quorum. they can take no action. and yet we know that there are violations of the election laws. so, i think we re seeing the destruction of democracy, the rule of law and unlike richard nixon who ultimately did believe in the rule of law and ultimately resigned rather than put us through this tragedy, i don t see that happening here. i think there are a lot of people that don t see that happening here. thanks for weighing in. the president s personal ....
well, he has. and i ll give you several things that have been done by both congress and the president. dhs has worked with 1,000 localities and states to make sure our systems have integrity and are protected. the president issued two executive orders. you look at congress, they passed the deter act which says you can t enter this country if you ve engaged in electionfortference. and by the way i would note they made it a crime to hack our election and they provided $380 million to states, more than 1,050 localities. a lot has been done, chris. it s false to say nothing has been done and no one cares about this issue because this administration does. first of all, we didn t have the risk then. you can argue obama mishandled it when he found out about it in 2016 and he played it too safe and tried to go to mitch mcconnell and tried to have it bipartisan. but that was then, this is now. this president has never said the following. ....

One, i think it s problematic to say i m not running on impeachment because it comes with risk. you say you re going to use your emergency powers. now, doesn t that make you arguably more like the president than dissimilar because how do you use the emergency powers and emergency declaration on the environment? chris, we are in a crisis on climate. it is threatening the health and safety of every american. agreed. this is exactly what the emergency powers were given. when the american people are threatened in fact the president has to act. if the government and the congress can t act, then the president has to protect the country and the people. but that s a political argument buts it s not the power located in that statute. that s why this show and many others argued against the president s exercise of that statute as an emergency declaration. because the border and needing a fence ain t an emergency ....
