Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and Coimbatore Lok Sabha candidate K. Annamalai filed his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency. Annamalai held a roadshow and offered prayers at the Arulmigu Koniamman Temple before filing his nomination. He criticized Congress Karur MP, Jothimand, for not looking into the constituency three months before the election and criticized the DMK election manifesto for being a book of lies.
